Helicopters are an essential force component for the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) and Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) across numerous locations and multiple mission requirements. AFGSC and AFDW selected Synensys for their first-ever rotary UH-1N helicopter Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) to assess, analyze, and improve their safety management system.

The collaboration between the Synensys LOSA team, the AFDW/AFGSC Safety staff, and frontline UH-1N operators created a genuine partnership focused on robust safety data analysis, proactive safety management, mission readiness, and the well-being of all UH-1N crew members, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Next-Generation LOSA produced numerous proactive recommendations to improve safety for the UH-1N helicopter community. Dozens of real and actionable improvement areas were identified while also creating a baseline for measuring system improvements over time for future Air Force Rotary LOSAs.
